across the country, writes Nick Gibson.Prime Minister Kevin Rudd made the promise to delegates at a Labor Party
conference in Australia this week.Russ says the new job creation scheme will include new full-time jobs and
apprenticeships for young people a spart of a wider initiative to combat
climate change and secure future employment.The new 'green' jobs package is to include 30,000 new apprenticeships that
will provide training in environmentally-friendly building practices such
as installing solar energy panels and water recycling systems and
retro-fitting homes to be more energy efficient.Around 10,000 new jobs will be created in a national Green Jobs
Corpsproviding environmental training for unemployed young people in new
schemes involving public works projects such as tree-planting and restoring
walking tracks.The government has also committed extra money to create another 10,000 jobs
to encourage sustainability and green building practices.In announcing the new $94 million jobs package, Kevin Rudd said the move is
aimed at helping young people obtain new skills that will be highly
