Lucy Butler
Lucy Butler is a senior consultant at TTP (The Technology Partnership), working in the Carbon Trust – TTP incubator. The Carbon Trust – TTP incubator is one of four Carbon Trust virtual incubators. It provides a range of consulting services including fundraising strategy, market analysis, technology evaluation and IP advice. These services are funded by the Carbon Trust and delivered by TTP.
The Carbon Trust - TTP incubator has helped 21 companies over the past two years, who have so far raised a combined total of £14m. TTP has 300 consultants with experience of commercialising technologies in a diverse range of markets, so can provide expertise and contacts in many areas of clean technology. TTP has specialists in IP, and can offer strategic advice from the TTP Ventures team. TTP’s proximity to Cambridge gives incubator companies access to the extensive networks within the Cambridge Cluster.
Lucy has experience in both management consulting and life science research. Before starting at TTP she was completing her doctoral research in Cambridge. Prior to this, she worked at a marketing and strategy consultancy in London, advising major pharmaceutical companies on commercial optimisation of their drugs. She has also undertaken voluntary work on projects to help potential university spin-outs understand their markets and formulate their ideas and strategy, and has fundraising experience in the voluntary sector. Lucy has a first class BA in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Developmental Biology, both from the University of Cambridge.
