Hours: 18.5 hours per week

ROLE:

The Air Quality Officer is a specialist role within the Environmental Protection Team with responsibility for all air quality related issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Implementation of the Local Air Quality Management regime which includes: submission of annual status reports, detailed assessments and air quality action plans according to Defra guidance and deadlines
. Co-ordinate steering groups and workshops for air quality action plans and carrying out public consultations
. Implement and co-ordinate air quality monitoring including the replacement of diffusion tubes on a monthly basis and the calibration of the continuous analysers
. Procure the services of air quality consultants as and when required

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

. Degree in environmental sciences (or equivalent) with relevant experience in a similar role
. Full driving licence
. Computer literate and competent user of Microsoft Office, e.g. Word, Excel and Powerpoint
. Ability to progress projects in a timely manner
. Demonstrable ability to make and implement decisions
. Proven team working skills
. Ability to progress work with minimal supervision
