Job Title: Auxiliary Plant Attendant

Location: Pitlochry / Clunie Power Station

Salary: £19,249 - £25,421depending on skills and experience + annual bonus + excellent benefits

Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week

The Role

SSE Renewables Hydro operates and maintains over 1000MW of Hydro Generation and associated infrastructure. Our Operations and Maintenance Teams are responsible for the operation and maintenance of our Hydro Generation assets, and we currently have an opportunity for an Auxiliary Plant Attendant to join our team based at Clunie Power Station.

The multi-disciplined team in the Tummel East Section is responsible for the day to day operation, maintenance and repair of our Hydro Generation plant to ensure it is kept in a safe and efficient state. You will assist in the safe operation and maintenance of the Hydro Generation fixed plant and associated water catchment area.

Some of your other accountabilities will include;

-Routine work involving the maintenance and inspection of the power stations, dams, buildings, civil catchments and plant.

-Carrying out routine checks and help to keep all our premises and fixed plant to a high standard of cleanliness and operational effectiveness.

-Communicate effectively with other team members and report operational defects as they arise.

-Conduct risk assessments along with environmental and safety inspections

As part of this role, you’ll also receive training to operate fixed Generation plant.

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a practical person with the ability to work as part of a team, capable of communicating effectively with the public as well as varying levels of internal and external stakeholders.

You should have some basic trade skills, with experience of civil works, including knowledge of ditching, road repairs, building maintenance and general repairs.

Due to the nature of the role you must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions and it may be necessary to carry out work out with normal working hours when required. You will be computer literate and will be required to become proficient in using our maintenance scheduling and reporting software and other company software applications for which training will be given.

A full valid driving licence is essential, and a first aid qualification would be advantageous.

Applicants should ideally reside or be prepared to relocate to within 30 miles of Clunie Power Station.
