Job Title: Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Operations Technician
Salary: SSE5 £27,947 – £36,912 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus + shift allowance

SSE are a leading generator of renewable energy in Great Britain and Ireland. Our Renewables business is responsible for the development, construction and operation of SSE's renewable portfolio, including onshore and offshore wind and hydro.
We have an opportunity for an Operations Technician to join our team that will support our £2.4 billion offshore wind farm at Wick. When constructed, Beatrice will consist of 84 turbines which will power over 450,000 homes with clean, renewable energy. The operations and maintenance for the windfarm will run from our new state of the art facility at Wick harbour.
You will be part of the team that is responsible for windfarm operations, service and repair of the balance of plant elements, including the transmission assets. This will also include co-ordinating and working with 3rd party wind turbine service teams.
You will ensure all operation and maintenance works are carried out on the wind farm balance of plant assets in compliance with policies, procedures, SHE and OEM recommendations and that operation of the High Voltage systems onshore and offshore are carried out in accordance with company safety rules.
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will either have a recognised background in an electrical discipline with minimum of a relevant ONC or equivalent and ideally have experience in a renewables and/or oil and gas environment. Previous experience of working with RAMs documentation, PtW systems and computerised maintenance management systems would be preferable.
Good communication skills are essential to ensure you can work safely within multidiscipline teams and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will be comfortable working to tight deadlines and be physically fit to be able to climb offshore structures, transfer by work boats and helicopters and to perform emergency response actions.
The role will entail working on a shift rota. During the construction phase of the wind farm and as part of your training and competency development you will be required to work at various locations across the UK.
