Our Role

SSE Airtricity Utility Solutions is seeking a well organised and self-motivated individual to join our Project Bid Team to develop and deliver effective and competitive Bid responses.

In this role you will work closely with the Bid Manager and core Bid team to support the development, construction and submission of Major Project Bid Responses with responsibilities for collating project subject matter, and developing written responses for tender submissions

Key Accountabilities

-You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative in an organised, accurate and methodical manner, working within project deadlines.

-You will also display excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels. You will have strong MS Office skills, especially in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

-Construction of bid Quality responses

-Attending Bid Start-Up meetings and helping develop the required “hot buttons” and “win themes”, and USPs with the bid team

-Ensuring content reflects and supports company policy and processes

-Develop with the Core Bid team the necessary storyboards for each response section

-Obtaining technical responses from the nominated Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and checking content for completeness and clarity. Meeting with SMEs as necessary to clarify initial content

-Attend and contribute to Bid review sessions

-Taking ownership of draft responses and rewrites following joint Bid Writer/Bid Manager review sessions within the constraints imposed by the Tender timescale requirements

-Responsible for checking and correcting grammar, punctuation and word count limits

-Checking the content flows and that the document reads well for the reader

-Checking that questions have been answered, understood and responded to in the order asked

Your Skills and Experience

-Third level qualification, preferably in Journalism, Business or Marketing

-Strong experience in creative bid writing, project management, digital management essential

-Relevant experience in a sales/marketing environment preferred (not essential)

-Experience in the Utility Infrastructure and M&E businesses in Ireland would be of benefit

-Proven ability to work under (volume and time) pressure with an eye for detail

-Excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills

-Skills in Bid formatting, layout, and contribution to design and graphic considerations

-A self-starter with an ability to work on own initiative

-Prior experience in a varied role requiring skills to multi-task and prioritise

-A fast learner with exceptional organisational skills

-Training as necessary will be available to the right candidate
