Role Overview: GallifordTry Infrastructure - Rail, Aviation and Environment is a newly created business unit. The business is focussed nationally and operates from bases in Manchester and Stansted airports, as well as offices in Wolvey, Warrington, Normanton & Derby. As well as tendered works, the business is focused around a number of key frameworks including 3 framework contracts for the delivery of Network Rail's Control Period 5, a landside and airside framework for the Manchester Airport Group (Manchester, East Midlands, Stansted and Bournemouth Airports). Finally, the business is actively involved in the WEM environment agency framework and has recently been awarded a place on the NRW environment framework. We are recruiting for a Bid Manager to be responsible for leading and completing the successful preparation and development of quality led bids as part of the business unit, targeting success within National and Regional Frameworks.The successful candidate will promote the Galliford Try business, seeking out and advancing business development opportunities to drive revenue into the Business Unit. Key Responsibilities: Bid Management Coordinate the overall bid submission processDevelop a bid win strategy to maximise chances of winning the project at commercial sustainable ratesDevelopment of submissions in line with the bid requirement including drafting and reviewing bid textAgreement and management of the bid budgetBid financial element fully detailed and agreedFull coordination and leadership of the bid teamThe submission of bids on time and to the required qualityDetailed assessment of the bid deliverablesProduction of bid submission matrices identifying individual responsibilities for every sectionProduce and agree the bid programme identifying key dates for the submission of information, review dates, deadlines and production of the bidCoordinate the formatting of the document with the submission teamMonitor receipt of information from authors against the submission matrix and ensure information is received on timeCollate feedback from bid reviews and distribute to authorsArrange, attend and chair bid team meetings, preparing meeting agendas, issuing updates and clarifications to the bid teamMaintain a register of the bid clarifications issued and receivedComplete and update the bid pursuit planContribute to the drafting of text for the submission. Design Management Manage pre-construction design requirements for the tender and manage designDevelop alternative design solutionsMaintain a knowledge of alternative technical solutions with a view to being able to resolve tender solutions with innovative solutions Business Development Potential Clients identified and action plan in place for developing links with othersFeedback contacts and meetings to the DirectorsFeedback specific opportunities to the DirectorsReview and monitor performance against targetsMaintain topical knowledge of the requirements of the marketplace and maintain up to date resource for practical presentationResearch and investigation of potential opportunities and networking. Experience & Qualifications: Degree level or equivalentExperience of pre-construction tendering as a design manager or estimatorWillingness and ability to travel as role requiresProven success in winning bids/tenders, ideally from within the Construction industryAbility to provide bid review skills across a wide variety of sectors and clientsTrack record of successfully managing multiple bidsDemonstrate an innovative and creative approachWell developed analytical, oral and presentation/communication skillsHighly organised and methodical approach to bid activityHigh quality presentational skills and ability to present to a varied audience including clients, design team, supply chain and internallyGravitas and profile to lead diverse bid teams and able to demonstrate the ability to influence In Return: With an ambitious strategy, we're poised for further growth and success, so if you're committed, talented and enthusiastic, Galliford Try is the right place for you.
