Job Title: Business Account Director- Midlands
Location: Nottingham Depot
Salary: £ 43,000 – £ 65,500 depending on skills and experience
Permanent| Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week
SSE Contracting are currently recruiting for a crucial member to lead their business development team within our Major capital projects division. This role is expected to work collaboratively across SSE Enterprise to achieve an exciting and innovative growth agenda to source large capital project works, often across multiple products, sites, and partners on a deal by deal basis.
Specifically, this revenue generating role will be responsible for the successful origination through to sales close of complex asset based and project based contracts for our major capital projects team. Solutions may include design and build, construction, installation, operation and maintenance of large mechanical and electrical projects and associated infrastructure such as battery storage, Combined Heat & Power and solar PV, and other efficiency upgrades.
In addition to deal origination, the Account Director will be a key part of negotiations with third-parties including customers and suppliers whilst offering critical partnership to Commercial, Delivery and Mobilisation functions & leaders. Typical responsibilities will include taking full ownership and accountability for originating sales leads and prospects, working with Marketing to participate in trade shows, industry talks and other sales presentation opportunities; leverage existing network and build new pipeline of Solutions and energy efficiency projects; work closely with Marketing and Sales Support to constantly scan for new credible sources of leads and sales opportunities and to develop and deliver high quality/professional proposals and presentations for customers and prospects. In addition, you will work with the executive team and peer development team to manage the project pipeline and develop forecasts; take full ownership and accountability for closing deals; create positive relationships and transactional progress while working with Commercial team on negotiations to completion and run economic models to assess project feasibility, and input into Commercial team pricing and deal structuring activities.
Your Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate for this role will be degree qualified (preferably from a business, economics or engineering discipline) with strong experience in B2B sales, managing complex deals and new business development. You will have a track record of selling Large Capital projects or solution selling and experience within the contracting/energy industry is strongly preferred. In addition, you will ideally have a proven track record of developing commercial projects and experience working in a large/global company with a matrix structure.
As an individual you should have an ability to communicate with influence and quickly build credible relationships, flexibility and an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, a keen sense of resourcefulness and an ability to work with limited supervision.
Frequent and regular travel to see prospects and customers will be a key part of this role and as such an ability and willingness to travel is essential.

The SSE Enterprise Projects and Operational Support Team support the entire Enterprise division leading the deployment of best practice in assurance, project management, engineering and in handling strategic projects.
