Community Relations ManagerCommunity Relations ManagerRES has been an established presence at the forefront of the wind energy industry for over two decades. We are one of the worlds leading independent wind farm developers. Our core activity is the development, design, construction, financing and operation of wind farm projects. With a portfolio of more than 5GW constructed and several thousand megawatts under construction and in development, RES continues to play a leading role in the world's fastest growing energy sector.RES is also an independent power producer. We own and operate a growing portfolio of wind farms around the world, currently totalling over 700MW. RES is also at the forefront of developing renewable energy technologies, with expanding interests in large scale biomass power station development. Our first 100MW project in Northumberland will generate green electricity for homes and businesses, provide 'green collar' jobs and contribute to the regeneration of the area. We are also at the forefront of large scale solar photovoltaic developments in the UK and abroad.RES UK and Ireland (RES UK&I) now has a vacancy for a Community Relations Manager, based in Larne, Northern Ireland.The RoleWorking as part of the Ireland development team within RES UK&I and reporting to the Head of Communications and Community Relations, you will play a key part in supporting the development of our wind farm sites in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. RES takes seriously its duties to fully consult and engage local people in the development of its projects. We are conducting new research and actively exploring exciting ways to encourage local community benefits to flow from our developments.Based at our regional office in Larne, you will work on projects across Northern Ireland primarily, and the Republic of Ireland occasionally, leading on the development and implementation of engagement strategies with communities, decision-makers and stakeholders to ensure the success of our planning applications and ongoing relationships with communities during with farm construction and operation.You will provide PR and communications support at a local and regional level for our projects as they progress through the planning and development process.Working with Project Managers, you will support and lead on local community liaison groups, media relations, exhibitions, opinion polling, building and nurturing supporter networks and the production of leaflets and websites. Key stakeholders and contacts are planning officers, local councillors, politicans, local communities, local media providers and external consultants.You will support and advise on RES's engagement with politicians and government advisors on key industry issues.In conjunction with the RES UK&I Communications Team, you will advise on and deliver marketing and advertising activities to promote the RES brand in Ireland, and lead on the delivery of educational initiatives such as wind farm visits for schools.The PersonEducated to degree level, you'll be able to demonstrate your experience of many of the following areas: Development and implementation of strategic media and community engagement plans Successfully dealing with planning authorities, project stakeholders, the media and the public. Experience in the production of online and printed content Implementing activity within budget and deadlines Research and insight around current industry trends and developments Managing external consultants Public affairs and political lobbying Ensuring appropriate and accurate responses are drafted to the media and acting as a media spokesperson Delivering proactive issues management planning for our projects and supporting in the delivery of a media calendar for proactive stories This is a public facing role, and persuasive negotiation and excellent communication skills with the ability to engage people on all levels are an absolute must. This is a role with development potential, within a committed and friendly team. Ideally you'll have at least 2-3 years experience in a similar role. Experience of renewables or conventional power generation would be useful, but not essential for the right candidate. You will be required to travel extensively throughout Ireland.
