PwC's Technology Consulting Practice is looking to recruit an experienced IT Sourcing Specialist at the Manager level.
PwC is looking to significantly grow its Technology practice and within this its IT Sourcing capability. The IT Sourcing Specialist will be instrumental in selling and delivering client work and will provide a critical role to these growth plans.
PwC currently provides services across the full IT Sourcing lifecycle to a variety of clients across a number of sectors. Demand for these services are growing as organisations look to align their future ICT capability and supply chain to the changing needs of their business. The role will be client facing, providing independent and expert IT Sourcing advice to support programmes and projects across a number of sectors including Defence, Financial Services, Telecommunications and Utilities and Media.
About the role
Our IT Sourcing client base includes both public and private sector clients and the team focuses on providing services across the full IT Sourcing lifecycle from strategy through to implementation.
The role reports to a Director and will provide the individual with significant development opportunities that arise through working in a high growth area in an expanding team.
The following skills and experience are essential to the role:
Defining IT Sourcing strategies for clients (including reviewing their existing business and IT capabilities, identifying the future IT capabilities and services required, determining whether these should be provided internally or via the market, defining appropriate commercial arrangements for any future IT supplier arrangements and determining the most appropriate sourcing route to acquire such capabilities)
You will have worked for a global blue chip consulting company.
Developing robust business cases to support any IT Sourcing and/or IT transformation project
Developing target operating models and roadmaps (to provide clarity of responsibilities between any future outsource provider and any internal retained function as well as a plan to help the organisation move to this future state)
Setting up programmes of this type including any governance and control frameworks required
Developing IT service requirements, service levels and other key contractual documentation that is required for a future IT supplier arrangement
Managing procurement activities including leading and supporting negotiations, supplier selection and contract close
Facilitating the development of transition plans that include both client and future supplier obligations - and then supporting transition activities
Performing ongoing reviews and benchmark exercises of existing client contracts as part of ongoing performance reviews and service improvement initiative
Optimising existing IT vendor management to support business strategy and change
Advising client leadership teams on how to structure and implement IT transformation programmes
Implementing major transformation programmes: i.e. Cost reduction, cloud Migration, Data Centre strategy, Operating model design and enterprise/ERP selection.
Experience in regulatory environments i.e. an understanding of regulations and compliance within specific the sectors mentioned as well as previous work with an Industry regulator.
Experience of delivering on at least one key IT sourcing/outsourcing/insourcing programme for clients.
Experience of working on IT Tower type sourcing arrangements is desirable.
An ability to advise and interact with clients and experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams.
The ability to lead small teams or work-packages to deliver work in this area.
Experience in two or more of these sectors is essential (Defence, Financial Services, Telecommunication, Utilities and Media) which would enable the consultant to engage credibly with clients in that sector.
Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to support the selling of consulting work in this area.
Experience with commercial and contractual negotiation levers.
Preference for a foreign language and the desire to work on international assignments.
