Job Title: Offshore Design Development Engineer
Salary: £36,500 - £55,000/ Up to €65,000 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus + car/cash allowance
Permanent | Full Time Hours
As Design Development Engineer, you’ll be accountable for the new build project portfolio in our Large Capital Projects programme. You’ll support the implementation of the design development strategies appropriate to the specific project, and support the team to provide effective coordination of internal and external engineering resource for the delivery of design development requirements.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include;
-Delivering design development activities on individual projects
-Providing updates on your specific project regarding progress, risks and issues.
-Ensuring all design deliverables are to suitable quality and are in accordance with Large Capital Projects Governance and Engineering Centre Design Development Framework requirements.
-Ensuring agreed engineering processes and standards are implemented.
-Ensuring delivery of design solutions which are in accordance with the relevant Design and Engineering Standards.
-Developing the engineering Work Breakdown Structure, schedule and resource plan, commensurate with the project strategy and overall project programme.
-Ensuring that suitably qualified and experienced staff are utilised.
-Co-ordinating a team of engineers across a discipline matrix structure, ensuring the delivery against the Design Management Plan.
Your Skills & Experience
We are looking for a Chartered Electrical Engineer who is experienced in Design Development of high value utility or infrastructure projects. You’ll have a background in design development across transmission systems /onshore/offshore wind plants and projects, able to deliver against project requirements and timescales. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills will be essential, as is the ability to forge and maintain strong relationships with all levels of stakeholder.
You’ll be experienced in co-ordinating design development teams within an engineering matrix environment, and be capable of managing conflict in high pressure situations. Alongside strong organisation and report writing skills we are also looking for you to have a solid understanding of the commercial context and implications of engineering activities and decisions.
