Description
Thatcher Energy are currently recruiting for a large environmental consultancy who provide environmental solutions, rural development services and policy advice.
Due to their current requirements they are looking to appoint an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant to their offices in Leeds on a permanent basis to manage, plan and conduct EIA's for renewable projects, especially wind projects.
The scope of the work package is as follows:
Business development and coordinating the planning process of renewable projects
Submit planning applications
Conducting thorough EIA's
Liaising with planning authorities and other key stakeholders
Supervise public consultations
Develop and maintain good client relationships
The successful candidate will be degree qualified in a relevant discipline with 5 years of EIA or town and country planning experience. Strong business development and experience of selling EIA work is a necessity as is demonstrable experience of project management. A thorough understanding of UK planning procedures and of renewable developments is also required.
Candidates will also have excellent report writing and verbal abilities skills (including the proficient use of MS Office) and a full UK driving licence.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have a project management accreditation or qualification, a second degree/qualification in a relevant subject and membership to a relevant professional organisation. A comprehensive knowledge of Feed-in tariffs and subsidy mechanisms would also be beneficial.
This is a permanent opportunity paying between £29-£32k depending on knowledge and experience.
