Our client is a medium sized engineering Company based in the South (UK).
The Company has significant history producing high quality solutions for the aerospace and motor sport industries, designing and manufacturing autoclave and ovens for the use in the production of advanced composite material components.
Our client has now applied its scientific and engineering expertise to solve the modern day conundrum of how to realise the maximum environmental and economic value from waste.
Therefore the individual will be a key part of the Engineering Team and be involved in all aspects of the Electrical and Controls Engineering from concept to installation, including PLC, HMI, through to commissioning and handover.
The candidate will be required to develop both outline and detailed design work packages to meet a stringent programme from contract award to project completion.
§ Develop P&ID drawings.
§ Design and draft Electrical Single Line (SLD) drawings and defining electrical infrastructure architecture for the process plant.
§ Experience and knowledge of LV and ideally MV electrical distribution systems.
§ Liaison with electrical infrastructure and energy supply companies.
§ Design and draft outline Motor Control Centre (MCCs) prior to detailed design and build by sub-contractor.
§ Assess and estimate electrical site loading for the process plant as a whole.
§ Diligently complete electrical field cable schedules, loop termination diagrams for instrument etc.
§ Design and draft process site electrical cable routing.
§ Knowledge of Hazardous Area Classification and the correct design measures to be adopted.
§ Knowledge of intelligent network systems such as Profibus or Canbus.
§ Working knowledge of BS 7671:2008 17th Edition Requirements for Electrical Installations;
§ Lead and manage the project team with an accurate assessment of the commissioning requirements and status to ensure subsequent decisions are well founded.
§ Ensure necessary HSE reviews are undertaken and identified actions completed.
§ Ensure all commissioning related works are in accordance with project specifications and ensure they are maintained throughout.
§ Schedule and co-ordinate work to achieve deadlines.
§ Create and carryout suitable test procedures.
§ Investigate problems, diagnose fault and solve issue/repair system.
§ Training maintenance and operative staff where appropriate.
§ Degree in Electrical or Control Engineering would be desirable.
§ Ideally you will have a minimum of 3-5 years Electrical and Control Systems experience.
§ A solid Electrical or Controls Engineering background with knowledge of current relevant regulations and working practices.
§ Knowledge or drafting capability within AutoCAD-2010 2D design environment and/or E-Designer.
§ Ideally your experience should include two or more of the following;
Rockwell, RSLogix 5000 (including CompactLogix, ControlLogix processors)
RSLogix 500 (SLC500)
RSNetworx for Device-net
Mitsubishi GX Developer
Siemens Simatic Manager /win cc
§ Effective and efficient commissioning engineering practices.
§ Must be a good manager, with a methodical, planned, engineering approach;
§ Strong leadership skills.
§ Resilient, with a proven ability to work under pressure in a fast changing environment;
§ Accurate and with a pride in professional work;
§ Dedicated work ethic;
§ Evidence of managing to achieve pre-agreed project deadlines;
§ Good IT and analytical skills.
§ Effective communicator.
