Description

Thatcher Energy are currently recruiting for a tidal engineering client based in the Republic of Ireland who specialize in the design and manufacture of marine turbines.

Due to their current requirements they are looking to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer based in the Republic of Ireland with hydro, wave, tidal, marine or related offshore experience.

The scope of the work package is as follows:

To work on transmission systems and power conditioning systems suitable for subsea conditions

To prepare component specifications

To build relationships and communicate with suppliers with regards to procurement and formalizing connection agreements

To develop systems for condition monitoring

To work compliantly with the Project Management team to meet clients requirements

To assist the Operations team with offshore testing

To follow all Health and Safety procedures and company policies

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in Electrical Design Engineering with experience in power generation, conversion, and motor control. Furthermore, they will be highly analytical and have excellent problem solving and communication skills.

Experience in Electrical R&D or the design and development of renewable power systems in the control and instrumentation of tidal energy projects is a necessity as well.

The ideal skills that you will need to possess is offshore electrical design project work in wave and tidal sector with a good understanding of safety.

You will have previous experience as an Electrical Design Engineer working as part of complex technical projects in a design capacity. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as part of a team and be confident in dealing with external clients and customers.

This permanent opportunity and will pay between £35-£45k.
