Location: Inverawe Power Station, near Taynuilt
Salary: SSE4 £24,923 – £32,919 depending on skills and experience + benefits + annual bonus
As Electrical/Multi skilled craftsperson, you’ll be responsible for primarily carrying out electrical maintenance activities but also mechanical & civil maintenance activities within your competence. You’ll be involved with the other maintenance personnel in day to day defect rectification, repair work and designated project work, as well as carrying out routine inspections and checks to ensure our equipment and fixed plant is kept to a high standard of operational effectiveness.
Working closely with other team members, you’ll report operational defects as they arise whilst carrying out risk assessments and environmental and safety inspections. We’ll also provide you with the necessary training to operate fixed generation plant.
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a practical person with the ability to work as part of a team and have the ability to communicate effectively, as you will be interacting with the public, people and team at all levels of the business.
Due to the nature of the role you may, from time to time, be required to work outside in all weather conditions and it may be necessary to carry out work out of normal working hours when required. You’ll be computer literate and will be required to become proficient in using our maintenance scheduling and reporting software and other company software applications for which training will be given.
The job requires a highly flexible attitude to all aspects of work in the section.
You must have an electrical or multi skilled craftsperson background and should ideally have previous experience of working on heavy rotating machinery. A minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds or equivalent craft apprenticeship certificates will be required.
A full driving licence is essential, and a first aid qualification would be advantageous.
