Energy Operations Director

Our client is the Energy business of a large blue chip construction firm. The energy Services business is a well-established, high growth area of the company and has been invested in heavily. They are leading the way in providing customers with a fully integrated, experienced team with expertise in identifying, creating and delivering long term energy solutions into all areas of the UK market. Role: The role is to direct and manage the proposed delivery of safe and efficient operation of energy related assets and to conduct maintenance of same with a view to meeting the demanding SLA's and KPI's involved in modern energy contracting. These deliveries may be required to meet Energy Performance Contract levels and be commercially beneficial over a long period of time in association with other parts of our organisation or as a stand-alone delivery associated directly with a design, build, operate & maintain (DBOM) contract. The role will require active participation in all aspects of the development of the solutions business in support of the sales and engineering teams as well as a particular focus on informing and guiding the team towards a deliverable and operable energy solution for the site teams to work with. Responsibilities:
- Developing O&M strategy, structure & process for all energy related assets and contracts inclusive of intelligent maximisation of asset value.
- Building, training and developing a suitably skilled and experienced team of managers, engineers, technicians, operators etc. to meet, and potentially exceed, the O&M requirements of the company's clients. Liaising with all stakeholders in delivering best practice solutions and to work towards continuous improvement of all aspects of our strategy, process and procedures.
- Maximising the commercial benefit of our relationship with our clients Minimising the service failures and payable LD's to our clients Direct and manage the company's energy related asset O&M team. Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the company. Develop professional and long standing relationships with clients. Play an active role in developing and securing additional business directly related to O&M of energy related assets both within and external to the wider Group.
Operational experience in a shift management, or senior supervisory, role within energy related ESCo, EPC or Hard FM contracts. Educated to graduate level within a professional or technical discipline related to energy generation, asset management or operation. Ability to show successful operational management of multi-site delivery teams in a customer facing business.
Experienced in management of commercial and financial aspects of a business with preference being given to those candidates with previous direct P&L responsibility. Knowledge of larger utility plant and its operational and maintenance requirements, including power generation, steam boilers, turbines and biomass burning technologies would be required.
