Job Title: Enhanced Technical Support Assistant
Salary: £28,000 to £37,000 Depending on Skills and Experience
Permanent | Flexible working | 37 hours per week

The network includes underground cables, overhead lines, towers and substations, operating at voltages between 33kV and 400kV, extending over a quarter of the UK land mass across some of its most challenging terrain. We have seen unprecedented growth in renewable generation in the North of Scotland over the previous decade. This growth has triggered significant investment in our network and we expect that this growth and investment will continue with the ongoing move towards sustainable energy solutions.
We are looking for an Enhanced Technical Support Assistant to join our existing team in Perth. In this role, you will work alongside highly skilled colleagues who develop and maintain a safe, accurate and robust network Control System for use by our Transmission Control Engineering staff.
This business critical role ensures that our Control System remains aligned with our evolving network. As our network evolves, so does the technology we employ, bringing with it the challenge of developing solutions to ensure that all operations remain safe and efficient.
The role involves data submission activities to meet our obligations to National Grid as System Operator. It is therefore critical that shared data is accurate and supplied within defined deadlines.
Other work ranges between passive diagram changes with no configuration through to complex interactive control arrangements for symbols with multiple functions. You will learn to configure, prepare and develop all tele-metered plant within the SCADA Control System.

In addition, it would be an advantage to have a basic knowledge of electrical networks and previous experience of SCADA applications.
