Engineering Contracting Company based in Cheshire, looking to recruit an Environmental Advisor for various National Grid sites in the UK, ideal for a recently graduated person or for those with some experience, salary offered will be commensurate

Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform a wide range of Environmental tasks to include but not limited to the following:
General:
. Implement the requirements of Integrated Management System 'at contract level to meet the requirements of ISO 14001
. Develop, implement and monitoring Environmental Management Plans and Site Waste Management Plans to maintain compliance with legislation and contract requirements
. Support operational teams in the production of internal and external reports
. Develop and deliver environmental and sustainability training including the CITB Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (SEATS)
. Undertake environmental audits and inspections at contract level, at other contracts and within the supply chain
. Represent and promote the environment team in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums both internally and externally
. Clear understanding/knowledge of industry and environmental standards/legislation
. Provide Environmental related support for projects / maintenance
. Raise Continuous Improvement Forms (CIFs) as appropriate and liaise with Client's Environmental departments
. Ensure all Environmental documentation/records are maintained within the Company's Combined Management System (CMS) and any customer systems.
. Ensure Environmental performance monitoring is maintained and reviewed accordingly against MoP / KPIs
. Contribute to the improvement and technical capabilities of the Company and Personnel
. Support existing, strong HSE Culture
. Good knowledge of where to obtain any information required

. Detailed PEMP including:
. Roles and Responsibilities

. Environmental Aspects and Impacts (identification and management thereof)

. Communication
. Consent / Permits / Licences (identification and management thereof)
. BAT Assessment Process
. Targets and Objectives
. Aspects and Impacts Register
. Emergency Response / Spill Response Plan
. Pollution Prevention and Control Plan
. Refuelling Procedure
. Water Management Plan
. Site Waste Management Plan
. Reinstatement Plan
. Removed Equipment Log
. Risk Assessments and Method Statements incorporating assessment of environmental risk as identified in the Aspects and Impacts Register.

Person Specification:
. Degree level in appropriate Environmental discipline (ideal) / Environmental based qualification to HNC/HND level with a minimum of 2 years relevant gas industry experience
. Associate or Practitioner Membership of IEMA or equivalent
. EUSR Passport
. Moderate IT Skills

Essential Experience:
. Good Engineering and QA/QC background
. Understanding of and familiarity with certification requirements, regulations,
. standards and specifications (ISO 900 & OHAS 18001)
. Practical knowledge and experience in Environmental Management Systems
. Development of project Environmental documentation and review of supplier Environmental documentation
. Knowledge and familiarity with KPIs and performance monitoring techniques
. Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Office suite essential
. Good communication and report writing skills
. Has experience in identifying and managing environmental risk and mitigation techniques on construction projects
