My client is a leading Homeware brand, the foremost casual brand in the UK and now a leading international brand, synonymous with quality and award-winning product design and with a long and rich heritage. It is a profitable and progressive private company, with an impressive customer base and exceptional product range.

Due to pending retirement, we are looking to recruit an Environmental Compliance Officer to help us ensure our factory and wider business operations deliver our demanding environmental objectives and targets. Reporting to the Quality Manager, we are looking for a bright and enthusiastic person to help maintain our outstanding record and achievements on environmental compliance and drive future improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and promote operating policies, procedures and practices to maintain ISO14001 accreditation, taking the lead with internal reviews and external audits.
Generate and be responsible for the 'operational environmental performance' audit programme
Deliver environmental regulatory advice, risk assessments and support, to operational teams
Project management of environmental improvement activities
Identify training needs and develop and deliver relevant coaching and training to ensure competence and to drive a culture of environmental sustainability, compliance and efficiency
Be the primary point of contact for all environmental matters.

Key Requirements:

This position is ideal for a recent graduate within a relevant subject area or an accomplished manufacturing professional with a keen interest in environmental and sustainability topics.

Qualification or background in science, engineering, or relevant environmental subject.
Experience with auditing management systems.
Strong analytical, risk assessment, problem solving, prioritisation and time management capabilities.
Confident written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
Good team player but able to work on their own initiative
Innovative and forward looking personality.

The job will be based at the main office and manufacturing site in Derbyshire but provide occasional support to their other manufacturing and retail sites around the country.
