Job Purpose Summary:

Our client, a prestigious and world leading multi-disciplinary consultancy has a fantastic career opportunity for an Offshore Renewables Environmental Consultant, to be based in their London Office.  You would be part of our hugely busy and successful Environment Energy Team, who currently have an exciting and expanding portfolio of work for some major energy projects.

The Environmental Consultant will be partly responsible for the delivery of EIA of offshore renewable projects (wind, wave and tidal), specifically on project managing team members to deliver assessment, consenting and consultation processes

Responsibilities:

  • To support the delivery of medium and large scale renewable energy and transmission projects and project teams.
  • To provide consultancy level support, as required, to the environment team in their office base and other area teams where specialism allows.
  • To make an active contribution to project work, to include report writing, organisation, consultation and project management.
  • To lead and assist with proposal and contract preparation (client and subcontractors). 

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential:

  • You will have good environmental technical skills, experience in the renewables industry (preferably in the wind farm sector).
  • Previous consultancy experience is desirable, with a proven ability to work within large sized teams reporting to project directors, and a track record in EIA would be preferable. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the regulatory and legislative system. 
  • BSc in a relevant discipline
  • Some experience in project management and EIA
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy market and previous experience of working on renewable projects
  • Understanding of environmental law, the EIA process, and relevant government policy  

Desirable:

  • MSc in a related discipline
  • Understanding of environmental law, the EIA process and government policy particularly relating to the offshore renewables sector
  • IEMA membership or chartered status
  • Some experience in environmental consultancy
