Altran Aerospace and Defence - Materials and Processes Team are currently looking to recruit highly motivated engineers to spearhead and coordinate Environmental Engineering activities across a range of activities within the aerospace industry. Roles will involve working closely with a major aerospace manufacturer in Bristol supporting onsite environmental management topics, with further opportunities to work with overseas colleagues and stakeholders on Eco-Design, engineering product and larger impact topics.
Candidates will be required to build on and maintain current environmental policy and form future strategy. Development of a new test facility and efforts to integrate transnational environmental management policy offer great opportunities to enact policy built around cradle to grave environmental principals. We are looking for adaptive and driven candidates, who can not only deliver on time to required quality - but to innovate within their position and propose new solutions for the customer.
Due to the nature of the assignments undertaken by Altran, you will work in situations that promote autonomy and initiative, requiring a flexible can-do attitude. Above all, you will have a desire to progress and deliver success for our customers. Candidates should possess creative problem-solving skills in a transnational team environment and be comfortable with communicating clearly and efficiently throughout varying levels of both the customer and Altran businesses.

- Support site environmental management and sustainability activities: - Energy, water, waste management
- REACh compliance
- Environmental Life-Cycle Assessment
- Eco-Design activities
- Formulate and enact new environmental initiatives and strategy
- Environmental Champion - Specific responsibilities for certain engineering, laboratory and test buildings.
- Develop environmental best practice for new site developments
Skills and Qualifications:
- Engineering qualification in relevant field or significant industrial experience
- Knowledge of ISO14001 and use. Previous practical application would be a benefit.
- Life-Cycle Assessment. Previous practical application would be a benefit.
- Eco-design. Previous practical application would be a benefit.
- Demonstrable passion for environmental topics would be advantageous.
Depending on candidate profile, there may be opportunities to integrate environmental management roles with more product orientated, materials engineering topics. Therefore we would welcome candidate applications with a background in mechanical, materials science, chemistry or similar, who can demonstrate a strong environmental skill-set.
