Our clients Sustainable Solutions business provides a focus for advising their clients on sustainability issues including renewable energy, low carbon economies, flood risk management, impacts of climate change and waste and resource management. Their environmental capabilities comprise of in excess of 1000 staff based predominantly in the UK, but with reach into the Middle East.
To meet our clients growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for an Environmental Engineer experienced in the development of outline and detailed design solutions for flood risk management based in their Berkshire office.

Primary Job Responsibilities
You will be working on projects for Essex County Council, London Boroughs, Water Companies, Network Rail, Highways England and Gatwick Airport. You will also work with other disciplines within the group to deliver project for major infrastructure clients.
Carrying out and coordinating detailed design of flood risk management solutions
Surface water drainage design
Appraisal of flood risk costs and benefits
Technical and business case reporting
Liaising with clients, hydraulic modellers, architects and other design team members
Assisting with project management and multi-disciplinary design coordination
Civil Engineering or earth science (with a flood risk specialism) degree and approaching MICE, or similar, status
Experience of Safety in Design and Designers responsibilities under CDM
Experience in the development of outline and detailed design solutions for flood risk management
Experience in the design and appraisal of structural and non-structural flood mitigation measures
Experience in preparing business cases for flood risk management schemes
Contract and specification preparation
Proven ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams in the development of design solutions
Proven ability to work as part of a team, liaising directly with clients and other design team members
Proven track record of presentation to an audience of varying technical capabilities (public, clients, technical specialists etc)
Construction related experience either as a supervisor or through visiting design office support role;
Knowledge of hydraulic modelling packages used for mitigation option appraisal;
Experience of GIS software
Experience of urban drainage design;
Preparation of Project Appraisal Reports to Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) guidance processes
