Jason Johal is currently recruiting for an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join a niche pharmaceutical business based in Hertfordshire at a time where it is embarking on a programme of investment in all parts of the business. The company manufactures a wide range of therapeutic products which are distributed to over 40 countries worldwide.
This role is offered on a full time permanent basis and with a salary of up to 50,000 + bonus and benefits

The role will provide day to day Environmental professional leadership, support and advice to management teams, employees and contractors and develop Environmental systems and procedures in line with current standards and legislation. It will also look to improve performance through the implementation of a HS&E Management system.

The position has a 70% Environmental 30% everything else split.

Your main responsibilities in this role will be to:
. Communicate and deliver HS&E methods throughout the company, and ensure that all staff are aware of company health, safety and environmental processes
. Keep the Health, Safety & Environmental management system up to date, input new information and run reports
. Monitor, guide and review EH&S activities with company procedures and appropriate legislation, ensuring improvements are implemented promptly & correctly
. Maintain the Incident electronic data base and to run appropriate reports and monitor Site accident details
. Review RIDDOR reports prior to submission to the Health & Safety Executive, ensuring accuracy and adequate supporting documentation both to reduce the risk of the incident reoccurring and to meet the needs of insurers in relation to any claims
. Undertake incident investigations where necessary in conjunction with the relevant managers
. Update and maintain EH&S records, presentations, training packages and databases
. Assist and carry out EH&S Survey's, inspections, tours and auditing
. Maintain the EH&S audit schedule across the site
. Organise and run EH&S improvement projects across operations
. Keep up to date with the non-conformities and continuous improvement actions from internal & external audits

You are required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
. Extensive SHE Management experience
. Experience gained from a Pharmaceutical background, but Aerospace or similar formal engineering environment would be considered
. The ability to perform a robust GAP analysis against regulatory standards
. Critical thinking skills and root cause analysis is essential
. To be able to articulate SHE success factors and provide success at a management level
. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
. Grad IOSH or equivalent
. CMIOSH (advantageous)
. Experience from another Regulated environment would be considered
