Job title: Environmental Officer - Large Rail Company
Job location: Central London
Salary: Circa 30-35k Basic; Plus Excellent Benefits Circa 5-8k; Plus Industry Training
Working for a large well known rail company you will be responsible for maintaining, managing and improving environmental standards across a variety of areas and locations. This is a broad spectrum generalist role for a large organization so you will gain exposure in everything from noise pollution, water & energy consumption & waste management through to carbon emissions and any other environmental risks, incidents or concerns. This will cover all operational sites and environments including Railway Infrastructure, Trains, Offices, Stations and Heavy Engineering Facilities.
*You will act as a key point of contact across all departments within the company in respect of Environmental management.
*You will be responsible for conducting company audits and leading initiatives to reduce the company's environmental impact where ever possible.
*You will ensure the relevant training and support of staff across the company with regards to environmental competence and develop key leaders to support strong practices across the company.
*You will assist the Environmental Manager with the ongoing development of Environmental Management Systems and maintenance of ISO 14001 & 15001 standards.
*You will work with the wider HSE team to improve overall Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness & Management.
*Working with internal and external stakeholders to reduce environmental impact and increase energy efficiency within the company's operations.
*Managing the relationship and communication with the Environmental and Energy Steering Group, Safety and Environment Board and any other bodies as required.
*Must have worked for a medium-large company previously with exposure in particular to Energy & Waste Management.
*Must have worked on ISO 14001 Audits.
*Ideally with ISO 15001 also.
*Ideally Degree Qualified; but we will accept applications from those with relevant vocational training & experience.
*Organsied and Motivated
*Prioritisation & Efficiency
*Good IT Skills - including the full office suite
*Team Player with Good Communication skills
