My client, a local authority are currently looking for an Environmental Permitting Officer to work on specialist geotechnical, mining and development projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with geotechnical engineering experience to develop their knowledge and skills in resolving the impacts of historical mining activities.

Candidates must hold a strong academic background with a BSc and/or MSc Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or Civil Engineering and have an understanding of mining and mining risk.

As an Environmental Permitting Officer you will be working within a dynamic team to assess development schemes, to assess proposals for remediating mining features. You will also be responsible for assessing the risk of development proposals. Your team will be granting permits to access mining workings.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multi-functional team of engineers and planners and also with external partners including developers, landowners and consultants.
