Description

Due to recent expansion there is an imminent requirement for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with knowledge of civil and/or environmental engineering focussing on renewable energy projects to fortify an existing team of credible engineers and consultants.

Established over 40 years ago with offices globally this multi-disciplinary consultancy provides a range of engineering services to the renewable energy industry, contaminated land and waste management services.  

Based in either the Edinburgh or Glasgow office you will report to the Divisional Director and be responsible for:

  • Undertaking investigative work relating to the resolution of a clients environmental and geotechnical problems;
  • Preparing factual and interpretive reports which identity solutions and recommendations;
  • Supervising environmental projects including any subcontractors appointed;
  • Assisting in the co-ordination of existing projects and the development of new business;
  • Assisting in client liaison and undertaking conceptual design of engineering elements on a wide range of projects;
  • Agree and authorise costs on all project related work and raising invoices to clients when required;
  • Advising on the appointments of sub-consultants to relevant projects;

You will be Degree educated in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a track record in delivering CAPEX projects for either the renewable energy industry such as wind, hydro or biomass or other heavy engineering disciplines. Fundamentally you will be of Chartered status and be a credible expert within your field.

Essentially you will have experience in environmental engineering projects, site remediation, regeneration, renewable energy and waste management.

You will have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal, strong interpersonal skills, a successful track record of project delivery, experience within design, contract and tender preparation and have the ability to make decisions in a consistent and well thought out manner.
