Join our international Wind Energy Offshore team and you could soon be managing the technical aspects and associated risks relating to the grid integration of their offshore wind projects throughout the project life cycle. This will include, where necessary, developing and delivering associated offshore transmission systems with capital costs running to circa £1B.
In addition to being responsible for the concept design and optimisation of Wind Farm and Offshore transmission system electrical networks, you'll also manage grid code compliance issues, technical interfaces with transmission system operators and specification & design review for all aspects of the power system design. Where necessary you shall also undertake power system analysis associated with the above responsibilities.
You'll need to be an experienced power engineer qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject. In addition, you will need detailed knowledge/experience in at least some of the following areas: Grid Connection process and grid Connection Agreements; Industry regulations relating to transmission systems; Offshore transmission systems; Working with network operators; Grid Code(s) and compliance process; Using power system analysis tools; Developing and optimising outline designs for electrical networks; Specification & design review in the area of power system analysis; Knowledge of wind turbine performance from a power system perspective; Knowledge of FACTs devices and HVDC transmission.
