Head of Consulting, Data Privacy & Compliance Ideally based London / Home Counties / South East Salary circa 75,000 to 100,000 basic, plus bonus, car allowance and travel expenses and benefits. Our client is a leading data consultancy, helping customers to ensure their data / business information is compliant, safe and optimised. As part of a planned expansion, our client is seeking to recruit a manager for their team of consultants, who work independently with customers throughout the UK and overseas on occasions, based from home. The role: Heading up a team of internal and external data consultants, managing the recruitment, training and development. A commercial manager who will oversee and support the team, allocating work and reporting as required, working closely with sales, account management, audit and other functions within the team as required. A hands-on role which will include the day to day function of a consultant: Data consultant who will speak knowledgeably about the entire data landscape with a client's senior management team, advising the best course of action. Discuss and give pragmatic advice in all data areas including; privacy by design, cross-border data transfer issues and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Provide subject matter expertise in the form of privacy impact assessments, benchmarking, workshops all aimed at assessing a client's privacy capabilities as well as recommending practical solutions to rapidly enhance a client's privacy capability and ultimately reducing their exposure to risk. The expectation is for technical excellence combined with strong commercial understanding and client consulting skills in a data risk advisory environment. Demonstrate a real understanding of the practical aspects of data in organisations and be naturally inquisitive, solving complex problems. Suitable applicants: Will have successfully run and developed a consulting team, this is a senior management appointment Will be a data specialist, understanding all practical aspects of managing data privacy and the relationship with information security. Applicants will be knowledgeable of GDPR, risk assessment & management, data analytics, BYOD, marketing data practice (PECR) and technology issues related to privacy regulations. Will have all core consulting skill requirements in addition to management: - Strong communication and presentation skills at the C-level and above - Strong writing skills - Comfortable working in a project based / client serving model - Ability to shape client expectations - Drive client pursuits and engage in complex deals - Ability to work with global and diverse teams in a dynamic environment - Able to identify and develop on-going commercial opportunities with clients Our client is looking for individuals that thrive in a busy and demanding entrepreneurial environment, are comfortable working independently with little supervision and have a strong desire to learn and a willingness to share knowledge.
