Head of Land Acquisition / Property - Renewable Energy
 
A leading renewable energy developer, working across the globe to develop, construct and operate projects is looking for an experienced professional to lead the Property Team for onshore renewable energy development sites in UK & Ireland.
 
This role can be based in the South East, Scotland or Ireland. Flexibility and willingness to travel is essential.
 
Principal Accountabilities:
 
Leading a team of surveyors involved in land acquisition for new renewable energy developments throughout the UK & Ireland.
Provide support and advice to the Property Team to help them meet the needs of the project development managers, regional managers and development director
Provide property advice to the company's project development managers, regional managers and development director.
Control and further develop internal procedures to ensure property obligations are controlled and complied with.
Control standard option and leases for use by the company along with the legal counsel.
Contribute to the management of development targets and processes
Negotiating and concluding appropriate property rights for the company's developments.
Liaise with and provide instructions to internal and external solicitors and agents.
Manage relationships with external solicitors and agents to ensure quality and control cost
Develop and implement best practice for relationships with landowners
Ensure awareness throughout the Property Team and Development Team of market rates in each market  
 
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
 
Degree in Estates management or equivalent essential.
Chartered Surveyor  - general practice or rural.
Extensive experience in property acquisition & development and/or Landlord & Tenant negotiations for infrastructure projects, ideally onshore wind farms.
Experience in leading a team of surveyors
Extensive knowledge of option and lease documentation in the UK - ideally with knowledge at least 2 of Scotland, England & Wales or Northern Ireland law.
Clean UK driving licence.
Knowledge of property issues / law for wind farm developments
