Health & Safety and Environmental Advisor
34,680 pa
37 hours per week
6 months contract (with a possibility to be extended)

Our client currently own and manage around 6,500 homes and employ 500+ staff, have an annual turnover of 40 million and work in partnership with local, regional and national agencies to deliver their services. They have achieved national, regional and local recognition for their work.

They are looking for a self motivated professional to join their team, with the ability to influence and promote a positive health and safety culture at all levels of the organisation.

As Health & Safety and Environmental Advisor you will ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and to support the operational management of Alliance Homes Group. You will assist and review the company Health & Safety arrangements work to minimize operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries. The provision of clear and consistent environmental information, advice, guidance, training and monitoring also forms part of this role.

A thorough understanding of current health and safety legislation and best practice is required and you will be able to apply your knowledge practically and sensibly across a wide range of workplaces and work activities.

You must be an excellent communicator, have experience delivering training at all levels and be able to build effective working relationships throughout the Group and with their clients and partners.

The successful candidate will hold a Health & Safety management qualification (or equivalent) and ideally a recognised environmental qualification. Relevant skills and experience gained within Social Housing or Property Maintenance work environment is essential, coupled together with an excellent understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Experience of fire safety management and with a fire risk assessor qualification will be an advantage.
