Health, Safety Environmental Manager

I local manufacturing & engineering company now requires a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join their team.

Health, Safety & Environmental Manager - Key Responsibilities and Duties

-To drive the implementation and sustainment of Environmental, Health & Safety activities throughout the site.
-Coordination of internal and external audits of the Environmental Management System
-To be aware and to plan for new EH&S legislation developments ensuring continued compliance
-Maintain required levels of documentation and records to ensure legal compliance
-Provide technical direction to all departments
-Develop environmental management system towards ISO14001:2015
-To liaise with external bodies including the Environment Agency and Water Authorities, HSE, Insurance Companies etc
-Collation of the information required for corporate Global environmental reporting
-Identification and completion of energy saving projects using a team based approach
-Supporting the deployment of the global H&S policy and the development of strategies to reduce risk
-To collate site accident statistics (leading and lagging indicators)
-To co-ordinate the site risk assessment programme and assisting in outlining safe operational procedures to reduce risks
-Co-ordinating and where required assisting in accident investigations and the identification of remedial measures and root cause to reduce Injury rates
-Producing accurate management reports, newsletters and bulletins to promote Health & Safety activities and increase awareness throughout the business
-Work with group leaders to ensure the provision of appropriate PPE
-Creation and delivery of "tool box talks"
-To offer advisory service on the implementation of new layouts/plant and equipment
-Creation of scheduled inspection program to ensure statutory compliance is maintained

Health, Safety & Environmental Manager - Person Requirements:
The ideal candidate must come from the Manufacturing Industry as a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications & experience:

-You will hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
-Ideally CMIOSH or working towards
-Experience of implementing ISO 14001:2015
-Be experienced in dealing with EH&S matters in a fast moving dynamic environment
-Have knowledge of deploying Health & Safety Policies and Procedures in a large organisation
-Be familiar in conducting risk assessments across all areas of a varied business
-Have experience of running energy reduction projects
