Health, Safety & Environmental OfficerMarshall Aerospace and Defence Group are currently looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join their award winning HSE team. Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group is the UK's largest independent aerospace and defence company. We specialise in the conversion, modification, maintenance and support of aircraft and defence solutions in the air, on land and at sea. Our capabilities include engineering design, manufacture, test, certification, maintenance and support and the provision of personnel, training and advice. With over 80 years of aviation experience, we employ over 2,000 people and have an annual turnover approaching $500m.Primary purpose of the role:- To provide health, safety and environmental support to all operations at Cambridge and ensure practices are in compliance with Marshall Aerospace and Defence Groups regulatory requirements- Responsibility for guiding and advising departments in the management and control of the risks associated with their work activities.- Maintain a working knowledge of legislation updates and changes affecting the business.- Supporting the leadership teams in implementing and assuring safe working practices in line with safety policies and procedures.- Conduct Health, Safety and Environmental Audits, reporting non-conformances and assessing suitability of corrective actionsMain Duties:- To review and investigate accidents and incidents [health, safety and environmental issues] as directed to do so by the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, producing reports and recommendations for preventative and corrective actions.- To carry out auditor duties at any of the Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group UK operations as directed by the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager and in line with the Audit Programme.- Direct and advise the management and employees of core team of updates in legislation and company policy changes.- Actively participate in Health, Safety & Environmental Working Groups to look at initiatives to promote a positive culture across the business.- Attend safety meetings and actively contribute via actions and implementation of recommendations arising. Promote a positive attitude towards health, safety and environmental management across the whole business.- Conduct health, safety and environmental audits in line with the SMS and EMS as instructed by the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager. To manage/monitor all corrective actions arsing from the audits.- To ensure that all inspections by regulatory agencies are co-ordinated and reported to the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager. To co-ordinate the implementation of corrective actions.- Provide advice, guidance and audit function to ensure that the developing frameworks oflSO14001 and OHSAS 18001 are implemented across the designated areas of responsibility.
