Salary: £36,900 - £56,500 depending on skills and experience

Working closely with internal teams, and external bodies such as Ofgem, BEIS and the ENA, you’ll ensure our innovation delivers long term benefits for our business and our customers. At SSEN Transmission, we ensure we work as effectively, and efficiently as we can with a commitment to continuous improvement. You’ll act as a key representative of transmission in the ongoing development of industry positions and innovations.
We need someone who can deliver our Innovation Strategy and help establish an innovation culture in our business, delivering real value from innovation to our stakeholders. This will include identifying innovation opportunities and identifying who best to collaborate and involve.
Your Skills and Experience
A thorough understanding of the GB electricity industry is key, along with experience within an innovation or commercial environment. You’ll be an exceptional communicator, with an ability to convey complex messages in an easy to understand manner, both in written and spoken formats. With a strong will to deliver what’s best, you’ll be Portfolio orientated and have a knack for organisation. With an ability to deliver challenging deadlines and to detailed specifications, you’ll be safety orientated, both in a practical, onsite and policy sense.
At Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), our skilled teams operate and maintain our electricity distribution and transmission networks, carrying electricity to over 3.7 million homes across the north of the Central Belt of Scotland and Central Southern England.
Transmission operates under licence as Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission plc, responsible for the transmission of electricity in the north of Scotland. We own and maintain the 132kV, 275kV and 400kV electricity transmission network in our licence area. Our network comprises of underground cables, overhead wooden poles, steel towers and electricity substations, and it extends over a quarter of the UK land mass across some of its most challenging terrain.
