Who you'll be working for:
With almost 50 years experience working on heavy civil projects, offices across the UK and Ireland, working as a Top Tier, Civil engineering Main Contractor on major projects. Due to a number of large projects in the East Anglia region, we have a current opportunity for an Junior Environmental Advisor to join our client, initially on a project in Ipswich.
A permanent role, working a 5 day week, with travel and accommodation provided, candidates from Ireland and the UK would be considered for this role.
What you'll need to have:
We require a degree qualified Environmental advisor with 1-2 years experience as an environmental advisor / environmental officer to support the growth and capability of our clients site teams, preferably with heavy civil experience, working with a main contractor.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and motivated with good communication skills and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
It is vital that you are able to demonstrate a pragmatic and proactive approach to problem-solving, especially across construction sites, whilst delivering their technical expertise and liaising with site management and clients representatives as appropriate.
What you'll be doing:
You will be required to undertake pre-construction surveys and site supervision work for major infrastructure developments, maintaining and developing strong client relationships and supporting the wider organisation as required. The vast majority of your work will be field-based although there will also be reporting and graphics components to the role.
The ideal candidate will have the following capabilities:
. Experience of heavy civils (Water, Telecoms, Renewable, Roads, etc)
. Experience of pre-construction ecological survey
. Site-supervision skills and awareness of cross-discipline constraint management on a construction site (i.e. including ecology, archaeology, water management etc.)
. Knowledge of UK & European environmental legislation relevant to construction sites (particularly those pertaining to nature conservation)
. Site Safety Audits & Visits
. Experience of working on infrastructure projects in peatland or similar
. Excellent report writing skills
. Proven client liaison skills
. Experience teamwork skills and strong work ethic
. Hold a valid driving licence and CSCS card
. Qualifications or expertise in Health and Safety would be a major asset
What you'll get in return:
An excellent package will be put in place for the successful candidate, with a salary that reflects your experience and abilities to date. Salary will be in the region of 25,000 - 35,000 dependent on experience.
