Description
A European Renewable Energy organisation requires a Lead Cable Installation Engineer for their offshore wind farm projects in Germany. The company dedicates themselves to generating energy out of wind, biomass and biogas. Their unit is also committed to the development of emerging technologies such as PV, geothermal and wave energy.
For their Germany Offshore wind department we are looking to bring aboard a Lead Cable Installation Engineer. The task for this position will require the installation engineer to seek to use their considerable technical and professional experience to deliver optimum solutions to ensure successful cable installation with regards to HSSE and Quality on time and within the Budget
Job scope:
- Coordination of array cable logistics according to schedule during planning and construction until operation
- Working closely with construction manager and relevant package managers, identifying and solving interface
- Evaluation of potential ports as port for storage, temporary storage and load out of array cables
- Determination of required transportation- and installation vessels for the offshore installation of array cable
- Developing logistics concepts together with potential suppliers including installation procedures, methods and calculations
- Specifications of offshore cable laying tender and contract
- Technical contract negotiations up to contract award together with the construction manager
- Coordinating and supervising the array cable installation
- Ensure the quality of work during array cable installation conforms with QA and HSSE procedures of the Group
Job requirements:
Must have:
- Relevant experiences in the offshore cable laying/installation activities
- Great knowledge of cable pull-in, cable storage and transportation, cable testing procedures and bending restrictors,
- Good skills of written and spoken English
- At least three year's experience in a senior project engineering or operations role in a Subsea, Offshore Installation or heavy lifting contract or similar
- The ability to develop and put forward new and better ways of performing, including challenging established procedures and providing alternative solutions
- Experienced in operational review
- Experienced in development of methods
- Understanding of the relevant regulations and approval processes
- Competent with standard software packages, email, word, Excel, MS-Project and PowerPoint
- Competent in communication of information

- Experienced in vessel coordination
- Experience in offshore renewables
- Experience in offshore Piling and scour protection
- Experience in heavy lift operations and cranes
- Current offshore survival & medical
- Degree in engineering
