Job Title: Lead Mechanical Engineer – Rotating Plant
Location: Medway Power Station, Kent
Salary: up to £63,500 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus of up to 15% and excellent benefits
Permanent | Full Time Hours
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Mechanical Engineer will build an inclusive and high performing team, across disciplines and departments, as required to deliver the role.
Some of your other main responsibilities may include;
* Management of works to ensure a safe working environment;
* Technical governance & guidance for your plant area;
* Delivery of compliance with legislation and industry best practice;
* Management of Projects;
* Delivery of an effective outage strategy;
* Optimising the maintenance strategy to meet with the needs of our customers / stakeholders;
* Leading root cause analysis and engineering solutions to defects;
* Driving innovation to achieve improvements in plant performance;
* Contract management of strategic suppliers and management of our Contract Strategy;
These accountabilities are in relation to the mechanical rotating plant assets of the power plant.
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will ideally be educated to degree level in a mechanical discipline or similar, however consideration will be made for candidates with an HND qualification. You’ll have operated within a similar role in the electricity, or a comparable engineering industry, and experience of working with GE 9FA Gas Turbines & Steam Turbines or similar would be advantageous. Due to your background, you’ll have good knowledge of contract legislation, regulation relating to Health and Safety and legislation for mechanical systems.
Good communication skills are essential, and you will have a demonstrable record of building teams, with a passion for safety and successful delivery against key stakeholder requirements.
