Our client requires a Mechanical and Electrical Site Manager (Hydro Power Refurbishment) to join one of the biggest renewable energy developers and operators in the UK. This excellent opportunity will allow the correct candidate to further their career with one of the largest and fastest-growing renewables generating companies in Europe. This will also enable an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to manage a £5m hydro refurbishment project in North Wales allowing strong career progression and furthering opportunities within the company.
The successful applicant will have experience of site managing large M and E refurbishment projects as a Principle Contractor, involving interfaces with existing operational assets. Experience of hydro power projects would be a distinct advantage.
The following are essential to the role:-
Knowledge and experience of UK Health Safety and Environmental legislation.
Experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment projects, ideally with hydro experience.
Management and co-ordination of multiple contractors working in a single CDM boundary on tight physical site near operational assets.
Experience of developing and implementing Safe Systems of Work, including isolations and issuing of permits. If necessary, training specific to RWE Safe System of Work will be provided. By collaborating with the station staff and safety team, the successful candidate will be capable of developing and operating a Safe System of Work for the site for the duration of the project, in collaboration with the station staff.
Capable of managing welfare facilities, site logistics and controlling access to the site.
History of successful delivery of key targets.
Good communication skills in liaising with all parties to resolve issues swiftly with minimal programme impact.
Good understanding of mechanical and electrical standards and specifications.
