M&E Design Engineer - The Role:
The candidate will have a proven track record and ability to carry out electrical building services design (EBSD). Technical experience and knowledge of electrical systems together with ability to comment on design proposals by others
- Lighting design, upgrade and power wiring requirements · Internal and external small power infrastructure and cabling requirements
- Calculating energy consumption impact from existing installations and betterment factors from applied changes
- HVAC plant and systems electrical wiring requirements
- Data and communications infrastructure
- Building emergency and security alarm systems

M&E Design Engineer - The Person:
The candidate will be expected to support other members of the delivery team and wider EPC business to respond to technical queries in design propositions and on site implementation activities.
The role will be largely office based with frequent requirements to visits client premises to carry out:-
- Initial technical survey of existing client electrical services installation
- Identify and report on opportunities for energy saving projects (ie change lighting, upgrade electrical infrastructure)
- Complete design calculations and draft specification for work
- Market test capital cost of identified energy saving projects and interface with framework supply chain of suppliers and sub contractors
- Technically review and sign off installed energy saving projects
- Knowledge of industry guidelines (CIBSE) and statutory regulations
- Degree qualified with substantial experience working in the building services engineering industry in a design capacity
- Ideally a candidate will be a chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status with a recognised body to the energy services industry. (MIMechE, MIEE, MCIBSE, etc)
- High level of understanding and excellent working knowledge of electrical systems.
- Technically sound designs comply with regulatory requirements.
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations and CDM regulations.
