We currently have a Senior Leadership opportunity with the ER Consulting Services area of our HR / People Operations function. This role will lead a team of employee relations Consultants who provide coaching and counselling to managers and employees on a broad range of complex and sensitive issues. This leadership role establishes the core performance expectations and service level agreements for the EMEA region, and ensures these targets are met in line with company philosophy, best practice and operational excellence. In PayPal our business is dynamic and fast paced - this role is central to supporting our business. This may include developing, interpreting, and recommending HR objectives, policies and operational changes while minimizing risk exposure by ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines. S/he is responsible for selecting, developing, and evaluating team members to ensure an outstanding employee/customer experience. Core Duties: 1. Build, lead, develop and motivate a high performing, multi-cultural regional Consultant Services team; reinforce the organization's core values and expectations through exemplary behavior, communication and coaching. 2. Responsible for ensuring quality of decision-making by Consultant team in order to deliver high value-added service to client groups; uses HR expertise and judgment to resolve complex issues to mitigate risk and scale with the growth of the company. 3. Conducts highly sensitive investigations into employee or manager complaints that are escalated from various sources including Legal, Ethics, HRBPs, Consultants and executive leadership. 4. Builds and maintains strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the business, as well as with Legal, HRBPs, COEs, Advisory Services and senior leadership; leverages established credibility to remove roadblocks for the team. 5. Derives relevant management information from inquiries, reporting & analytics to identify key insights from across the business, address gaps and foster a mindset of continuous improvement. 6. Partners closely with Legal and the HR team to address regional legal and regulatory issues that affect employment, and recommends appropriate modifications to existing policy/practice as needed. 7. Initiate, lead and/or participate in a broad range of major projects and initiatives to support regional expansion and enhance operational excellence. The ideal person for this role will have:- 1. Excellent people leadership skills with a proven track record leading a small team of HR professionals to deliver an outstanding service to geographically dispersed business units against exacting performance metrics. 2. Skilled at using effective listening, probing and investigatory skills to handle complex, sensitive escalated inquiries and conversations with discretion, composure and compassion. 3. Outstanding communication skills, demonstrated success in influencing and engaging stakeholders, building collaborative relationships while managing conflicting priorities. 4. Strong analytical mindset, able troubleshooter adept at analyzing large amounts of detailed information, diagnosing problems and recommending appropriate solutions to executive leadership; experienced in measuring, reporting and presenting results. 5. In-depth knowledge and understanding of multi-country EMEA employment legislation, its interpretation and implementation, and of employment practices specific to State, Federal and Country compliance; broad expertise across all HR disciplines. 6. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, global organization and to build strong trust-based relationships with remote client groups and colleagues. Experience: * Significant, broad Human Resource experience, including experience of leading teams * Significant experience in the area of Employee Relations * Experience across multiple jurisdictions preferred Educational Requirements: * Bachelors Degree or equivalent required, Masters degree preferred * Qualification in Employment Law preferred * Higher certification in Human Resource Management (e.g., PHR, SPHR, GPHR or equivalent)
