MOBILE OPERATION SITE SUPERVISOR
WHOLESALE – RENEWABLE OPERATIONS
SOUT EAST SCOTLAND/CLYDE WINDFARM
SALARY £30,432 - £40,190 NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
At SSE, we believe in making a difference. We have announced investment of over £1bn in GB and Irish energy markets, in the past year alone, and employ over 19,000 people across Great Britain and Ireland, to ensure we can provide the energy that people need, in a reliable and sustainable way.
We are a leading generator of renewable energy in Great Britain and Ireland. Our Renewables business is responsible for the development and construction of SSE's portfolio of renewable energy projects, including onshore and offshore wind, hydro, marine, biomass, and solar. We have an opportunity for a Mobile Operations Site Supervisor to join our Renewables team based at Clyde wind farm.
As an Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the sites you are responsible for, which will include sites across the South of Scotland and North of England meet their availability and production targets. To achieve this, you will liaise with internal and external key stake holders. You will facilitate a safe system of work for staff and contractors by carrying out inductions, reviewing risk assessments and method statements. You'll also visit working parties out on site and engaging with them positively about safety. You'll make sure that planned maintenance routines are carried out on time and to the required standard. Providing emergency response by reacting to incidents, carrying out investigations and sharing the learnings across the business will also form part of your responsibilities.
To be successful in the role you will be educated to a minimum of ONC / SNVQ III or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have previous experience of working on electro-mechanical systems such as rotating machines, gearboxes, switch gear and control systems. Ideally you will have the ability to read and follow engineering drawings, single line diagrams and schematics, however training will be provided if required. You should have a high regard for health and safety. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential. It would be an advantage for you to have experience of working at height and experience of pressure systems and lifting equipment. You will be accountable for a small budget so a basic understanding of financial protocols would be beneficial.
As you will be providing supervision to working parties, it is essential that you have supervisory experience from a fast moving operational environment.
Due to the requirements of this role you will be based at Clyde wind farm and travel to other sites in South East Scotland and Keadby, likely to be one week in five, or as required.
Closing date for applications is 14th of December 2017
If successful we will ask you to complete a vetting and verification process, this will include a criminal background check.
