Reporting to: UK Board Director
Salary: Negotiable, plus excellent benefits
Our client is an international environmental consultancy with almost 900 employees working from over 60 offices in Europe, North America, Australasia, and Africa. Headquartered in the UK, they are one of a very small number of truly international specialist environmental consultancies.
It provides global advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues to a diverse and growing base of business, regulatory and governmental clients. Key areas to the business are the energy and mining sector where it is involved with both the oil and gas industry, renewable power including wind,energy from waste, hydropower and biomass, and advises mining companies and funding organisations throughout the world. They are also the leading consultant to the private sector waste management industry in the UK and undertakes a significant amount of planning and environmental impact assessment work for majorcommercial developers.
The company has been developing and expanding its presence in the offshore sector for a number of years and it is now looking for somebody to head up this initiative and further drive business in this area.
They are particularly looking for candidates who could drive the development of our environmental consultancy business in the
following areas;
Offshore renewable energy including both wind as well as wave & tidal;
Marine aggregate extraction;
Marine cables and pipelines; and
Port-related development.
Candidates who have due diligence experience in this sector would be particularly welcome.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for developing the offshore business sector in the UK although this role will also need to consider and develop global opportunities for business.
There would also be the opportunity to develop and shape the global capability.
The role would be to facilitate, coordinate and develop the business sector, whilst also carrying out chargeable work within the field of their expertise. The position would report into the main Consulting Board and it is expected that the candidate would significantly develop/influence the company's UK and global offshore strategy.
