The Role

To support the UK transition to a low carbon economy, SSE currently have the largest Offshore Wind pipeline of any UK company with a development portfolio of over 5GW. We have a proven ability to develop, construct and operate industry leading renewable generation projects, with an operating portfolio of over 1GW across Greater Gabbard, Beatrice and our investment in Walney 1. SSE are committed to playing a key role in this transition, and to support this, we have a number of key engineering roles now available, working within our Engineering Centre of Excellence, to strengthen our capability across the Offshore Wind project portfolio.

We are looking for individuals with discipline-based engineering expertise across Mechanical, Structural, Marine, Civil, Electrical, and Control activities, who will be primarily associated with supporting project design development and construction of major Offshore Wind projects, also providing long-term asset and investment management activities throughout the operational life.

In addition, we are looking for experienced development and construction project engineers responsible for managing engineering delivery across a large and complex portfolio of nationally significant Offshore Wind projects, as part of our ambitious investment programme.

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in these roles, you’ll be degree qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline and have achieved (or be working towards) Chartered status. Experience of Offshore Wind and/or large-scale Marine/Offshore engineering project is essential.

You’ll be required to have a track record in providing engineering expertise across large infrastructure projects together with commercial acumen to ensure cost effective solutions that meet business objectives. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential to ensure you can work across multidiscipline teams, together with an ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders.
