Salary: £43,200 – £65,500 depending on skills and experience + benefits + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
The Onshore Wind Service Team is responsible for the efficient, compliant and high-quality delivery of turbine maintenance on 45% of SSE’s wholly owned Onshore Wind portfolio.
As Service Manager, you’ll be accountable for ensuring that the Service Team, safely and efficiently, delivers its annual maintenance and fault response obligations. By demonstrating value, you’ll help determine the future service strategy and identify new opportunities for cost savings, efficiencies and growth.
Some of the other accountabilities relating to your role will include;
- Embed a positive, compliant, ethical and commercially driven culture to deliver excellence, ensuring the right people are in the right place and encourage a positive team spirit.
-Ensure a lean and relevant structure that delivers value whilst being robust to market and industry challenges
- Monitor Service Team performance, ensuring SSE meet its business plan targets of safe production of energy.
-Ensure efficient and effective management and preparation of budgets
-Guarantee long-term integrity of the windfarm assets through the delivery of planned and unplanned service activities, whilst challenging and balancing cost against turbine availability to ensure the business meets future growth and cost control strategies.
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who is qualified to degree level in relevant technical engineering qualification such as Mechanical, Electrical or Control and Instrumentation, or has extensive demonstrable experience within a similar type role.
You’ll be IT literate and have good knowledge of SHE and quality management systems. Excellent analytic and numerical skills will be necessary, as will a solid understanding of budgeting, cost control and financial reporting.
An element of travel will be required as part of this role, so you must be flexible and have the ability to work in isolation and on your own initiative.
