Job Title: Operational Electrical Engineer

Location: Clyde Wind Farm or Glasgow

Salary: £38,265 – £50,539 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus

Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available

The Role

You will be tasked with ensuring that electrical assets across the fleet of onshore windfarms are managed safely and effectively for both routine maintenance activities and fault occurrences. Implementing electrical safety legislation to ensure assets are operated in a safe and effective manner and to ensure that operational safety practices are in place to protect both employees and the public. You will ensure the robust and consistent maintenance practices are employed to maximise operating efficiency of electrical assets and engage with multiple stakeholders, both within and outwith SSE, to ensure that the Wind business can operate to the highest standards of safety and technical performance.

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will be educated to HNC level in Electrical Engineering, have equivalent work experience, ideally with knowledge of wind turbine technology. You will already be an operational SAP or be able to demonstrate the ability to achieve sufficient competence.

Developed experience in an operational, maintenance or construction environment, preferably within a HV environment is essential as is good working knowledge of electrical equipment and systems (protection systems, HV switchgear, electrical generating plant, HV / LV transformers, control systems).

You will be able to demonstrate experience in managing projects and contractors and have a proven track record of delivery, both personally and through others.

As you will be travelling to different sites across our fleet a driving licence is essential.
