Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week plus overtime
The O&M team within SSE Enterprise utilities operates and maintains the groups Heat Energy centres across the UK. The Energy centres provide hot water, heating and cooling to both residential and commercial customers on the developments that utilise each of these energy centres.
The O&M team utilise several specialist contractors to deliver an extensive program of both planned and reactive maintenance across all the assets that make up each of the energy centres. The O&M Supervisor manages the delivery of this maintenance at the sites allocated to them.
This role is responsible and accountable for the Operational Performance of designated Heating and Cooling Networks and associated Energy Centres. The main deliverables are the management of all Planned, Preventative and Reactive Maintenance in accordance with standards and procedures as set out by SSE and as required under any commercial agreements with the respective building owner/developer.
The main objectives within this role will be to implement and control the full contractual obligations of each energy centre in accordance with SSE’s Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) standards, ensure all subcontractors are operating within the energy centre adhere to these requirements, review contractor Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) and performance against agreed Service Levels, and issue Permits to Work.
The outcomes are to be effectively managing and reporting on failure response times, maintenance regimes and preventative in accordance with SSE’s contractual Guaranteed Standards (GS) along with controlling the financial commitments as required effectively and within budget. Field first call diagnostic calls from customer services and ensure the right response is progressed.
Your Skills and Experience
Previous operational, maintenance and management of service delivery experience is essential within a Mechanical/Electrical/Controls engineering environment. With experience in any of the following being highly desirable:
Commercial & domestic heating engineering, operating & maintaining Energy Centres including industrial CHP, MTHW, LTHW boilers, gas, oil, biomass plant, absorption chillers/ air-conditioning plant, HVAC systems and associated distribution systems/ equipment, and plant monitoring systems (BMS, PMS).
You will have a comprehensive understanding of current industry practices, relevant legislation and demonstrable experience in preparing Method statements, Risk, COSHH Assessments, and Permits to Work. Within this role, you will be the Authorising person for all works being undertaken as part of the PPM & Reactive process within the energy centre. You will also have access control to the energy centre, including STOP work orders if required.
Your responsibility will be day to day management of all onsite sub-contractors for PPM & Reactive works Competence in setting sub-contractors to work.
You will have authority to request purchase orders for reactive spend items as required and the issuing authority for all Permits to Work.
Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and current Internet technologies.
SMSTS or IOSH Managing safety Certification in Site Safety Management is desirable, however, training can be provided.
