The Company:

We are working on behalf of one of the most dynamic and agile developers and owners of bio-energy assets who are currently undergoing a prolonged period of growth through the development of plants across the UK.

With funded and planned developments set to double and triple their portfolio of the immediate time frame there is a fantastic opportunity to work in a senior capacity taking technical operational responsibility for the current and future facilities. They currently have over 3 MW in production.

Opportunity outline:
Operations manager (Bio energy / Bio-gas)

The Operations Manager will have direct responsibility to manage the operations of its two operating plants and in the immediate future their new sites being built. (There are two in the immediate stages)

You will report to the Managing Director and have responsibility for the supervision of on-site staff and contractors, manage operations, maintenance and servicing of the plants and work with the (feedstock) supply team to ensure continuous running of the plants.

The candidate will be expected to assume responsibility for all the operational, HSE and environmental operations of the plants ensuring the continuous production of the plant. In that capacity you will also have responsibility for bringing in new technologies and driving a process of continuous improvement through the engineering and operational processes

The role will be based at the head office but will require extensive travelling to the operating sites. Flexible (home office) arrangements may be considered.

Desired Skills & Experience:

You should be able to demonstrate experience managing plant operations from the bio-chemical, chemical, brewing, pharmaceutical or similar process industry. (For those transitioning from industry full support will be given to train within the particular aspects of the plant operations)

The candidate should ideally have:
-Degree in Chemical or Bio Chemical Engineering
-Plus five years post degree experience
-Experience of managing directly employed operating staff and dealing and negotiating with contracted staff and contractors
-HSE experience and operational knowledge
-Front line trouble shooting and maintenance experience of plants
-Operating and process control experience in the Process Industry
-Willingness to learn and work in a team and communicate easily up and down the organisation
-Full UK driving Licence and willingness to travel
