This growing player in the power sector is looking for a Principal Engineer with a ports and marine background to join their team in Newcastle.The role will include the design of marine structures, in which you should have a knowledge of the latest marine codes of practice, you will be experienced in structural design, including the design of steel structures. You will also be involved in planning studies and preparation of feasibility and design reports, alongside operational management including supervision of site contractors and undertaking of risk assessments.You should be comfortable managing and leading technical project teams and actively participating in business development activities.Required skills:Civil/structural engineer, ideally chartered. Experience of civil/structural design with the ports/marine environment.Experience of marine site investigation - geotechnical and geophysical engineering.Experience of heavy civils within ports.Good IT skills, including CAD.The role will offer solid salary packages and an attractive progression plan within a high profile energy organisation.
