This is an International Consultancy with a strong reputation in Waste Water sector. They are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to work on a 4 year framework contract and other contracts with various Water Responsible for planning and managing the delivery of the technical and financial elements of a project (including times, cost and quality). Their main duties and responsibilities will be to contribute to the management and design of water and waste water schemes for their local client base. This will include working in multi-disciplinary teams of civil, mechanical, process and electrical/C&I engineers. To provide Mechanical discipline leadership to Project engineering teams, particularly whilst mentoring and guiding other team members. To have an awareness of project and programme management and be aware of and understand the commercial and financial consequences of their actions and the actions of others. Qualifications required: Recognised academic qualifications, Degree, HND, HNC etc. Recognised professional qualifications including membership of appropriate / relevant professional institution. Experience required: The successful candidate should be computer literate with significant experience in the municipal water/wastewater industry in a client, contractor or consultant role. And able to demonstrate skills in:Preparation or supervision of preparation of outline and detailed drawings for plant general arrangements, P & IDsDesign / project co-ordination / contract managementEquipment selectionHydraulic analysisProduction of technical specificationsDesign liaison and coordination with plant vendors/contractors Experience in water/wastewater process plant designCondition surveys, technical studies, design calculationsCDM coordination including development of Risk Assessments & Method StatementsAssisting the Commercial Department, in the preparation of enquiry documents, the evaluation of returned tenders and prepares bid evaluation documentationManaging sub contract packages, ensuring integration of designInspection and Testing of equipment if required at the factory or siteOn site commissioning if required or advising commissioning engineers Salary range: A competitive salary depending on qualifications and experience plus benefits including 23 days annual leave (rising to 25 after 4 years service) in addition to statutory holidays, a 7% non-contributory pension scheme and flexible working hours.
