Smart Energy Systems - Project ManagerUp to £55000 + bonus & benefitsAre you an experienced Project Manager who is passionate about engineering and technology?Keen to use your knowledge of Systems Engineering & Energy Systems to play your part in achieving the UK energy and climate change goals?This is a key role within the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) with responsibility for the commissioning and delivery of a number of projects within the rapidly growing Smart Energy Systems sector. Working with government and the private sector, the ETI aims to increase energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and make a major contribution to the achievement of UK energy and climate change goals.The Smart Systems programme will address issues regarding the creation of intelligent infrastructure to manage energy consumption and incorporates detailed work on consumer behaviour and control software architecture. It is expected that this key programme will develop into a portfolio of projects with a combined value of over £100M, which will play a significant part in reducing the UKs carbon footprint. This is a key role in the Programme Delivery Team with responsibility for ensuring that your projects deliver the identified business benefits on time, to budget and within agreed parameters. You will oversee numerous projects simultaneously which range in size, potentially up to £5M. The projects are delivered by consortia of external organisations with the best experience and expertise across small to medium sized enterprises, large corporates and academia.A good degree, extensive project development and delivery experience and a strong background in research, development and demonstration management gained in an innovative technology role are essential for any applicant to be considered. Working as a Project Manager you will need to have delivered large scale, collaborative projects on time, within budget etc. In addition, your leadership, team working & stakeholder management skills will also be essential for your success in this role. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of Systems Engineering or Energy Systems or at the very least key demonstrable skills from a related sector.
