Salary: circa €46,000 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus

Quality Assurance Engineers are responsible for ensuring AES service/installation engineers carry out their roles in the manner expected by AES. Safety, customer care and technical ability are the main areas that that are focused on. The QA engineers also act as an escalation point for customer complaints of a technical nature where the call centre may need a QA engineer to visit the customers’ homes.
The QA engineers are the link between SSE Airtricity Energy Services Operations Manager and the network of installers and service engineers that are employed and contracted by AES. The QA engineer will also carry out boiler service and repair as and when required by his line manager.
Duties will include;
-Dealing with team of engineers- issues, queries, technical problems – maintaining a good communication with all engineers, updating them on any changes to safety issues and liaising with the RGII.
-Taking calls from engineers regarding technical issues/Meeting engineers on site
-Dealing with any escalated problems re spare parts, QA, customers – Meeting customers on site to deal with any complaints they may have about jobs that were done or works not carried out.
-Reporting to Operations Manager/Works Control Manager – attending regular QA meeting with Management team – to discuss any issues rising from the previous week.
-Training/Safety Updates – this includes a monthly safety call with all contractors working on behalf of AES on day to day business- communicating any safety issues, problems that may have risen with other engineers and informing them about any changes within the company.
-Customer Care – dealing with customers on a daily basis, QA calls to service jobs and install jobs that were done and calling out to the job if customer has any complaints.
-Boiler Servicing – Carrying out boiler service and repairs as and when required by the business
-Liaising with Manufacturers/Technical Update – managing any training courses that the engineers may want to attend, communicating any changes on the IS813 and keeping up to date with changes from the RGII.
-Quality/Brand Awareness – keeping the engineers aware of the importance of branding -wearing of Airtricity clothing, dust sheets and van branding. Also making the engineers aware of their responsibilities while wearing the SSE brand.
-Auditing of Engineers – Carrying out regular inspections of the engineers works to ensure that they comply at all times with SSE AES standards. This includes on site observations as well as maintaining an audit list containing details of up to date safety and regulatory documents confirming engineer’s ability to work to SSE standards
-Ad hoc duties as required
Your Skills and Experience
-A strong background in Plumbing / Gas Installation and experience in all aspect’s boiler installation and maintenance
-Strong customer service ethic
-Problem solving skills
-Knowledge/willingness to learn about SEAI grant management
-G1, G2 and G3 certificates completed
-GIFF- gas installer fault finding
-Extensive knowledge of IS813 and all gas standards.
-The ability to ensure a consistently high level of safety, customer care and satisfaction.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with an eye for detail
-Ability to work on own initiative
